4 days to go to meeting tom at milton keynes2nd of june

:D ive just ordered my photo shoot tickets to have photos took with tom at the collectermania milton keynes where tom will be on june the 2nd ive been there before to see tom and stayed in the hotel thats connected to the event i was gobsmacked when i went to book that same hotel for june only to be told its all booked up so soon so ive got in to another which is 10 minutes away from the event .so what with the one on the 11th of feb and the june one im a happy bunny .hope some of you will be able to make it to the june one and if so look forward seeing you there

im going on the 31st of may meeting tom on the 2nd of june and go back home on the 3rd of june now so no more making my mind up thats it now .ive changed hotels i dont know how many times and now im settled with the one that is 5 mins away from the mk event the hotel is at furzton lake which sounds nice .i will proberly go and have a walk round the lake on the thursday i get there i dont know yet if not there is always the friday i wil take a look round as im not going to the event till tom day on the saturday

:D the reason im going down on the thursday is its my sister who looks after mum while im away and she dont have to have her grandkids that week so i asked if it was ok for deb to come on the thursday to stay with mum instead of the friday so thats cool .and the other is it might be busy on the friday on the roads as its a bank holiday so its best to drive with no hassle on the thursday

What an opportunity this is. A pic with 5 doctors! I've looked at the event site but didn't see anywhere to buy just a pic of the 5 doctors without a fan. Is that available anywhere? I'd probably pay for that one. Autographed by all 5 of course.

I also attended Collectormania and got a pic with Tom and although things had to be kept brief due to the need to keep the queues moving I can now say I've shook his hand and he was very enthusiastic when my niece offered him a jelly baby

Prior to the photoshoot I got my first glimpse of Tom in person earlier in the day as he was being escorted round the venue by one of the event staff and there's definitely an aura about him, on TV and audio the 4th Doctor's presence leaps out at you and in person Tom is just as impressive a figure but there's no hint of an ego from him....he was great with everyone I saw him meet and my respect for him has grown even more.

They say you should never meet your heroes but Tom didn't disappoint

Me and my niece also met,

Louise Jameson = She's lovely. When I got a signed pic I managed to have a bit of a chat with her about the recent audios she's done with Tom and she mentioned that recording sessions for further ones are scheduled "into 2014" so it looks like there's a lot more to come from the 4th Doctor & Leela which is GREAT!

Brian Blessed = The first thing we heard when we entered the venue was his thunderous tones saying "TRICK OR TREAT!" as part of some anecdote and he could be heard at regular intervals no matter where we were in the venue.

When we were queueing for our photoshoot we saw several people jump when he suddenly said "GORDON'S ALIVE!" at an earth shattering volume and a few moments later a guy in a Flash Gordon t-shirt came out and said "He did it!" and punched the air!

When we got to the last few in the queue before our own picture it became apparent that everyone in Brian's vicinity was in fits of laughter as he was giving a running commentary on the entire queue and he never missed a beat between each person he met. Like Tom he made a point of making eye contact and shaking everyone's hand and anyone who met him left with a big smile on their face.

My niece also got a pic with Sean Astin as she's a fan of the LOTR movies and I ended up spending about £200 more than anticipated at the merchandise stalls.

This was the first event of this kind we'd ever been to and although things were a bit hectic because of the crowds we both had a great time and I can now say I've met my favorite Doctor & companion so mission accomplished!

bcm im glad you were able to meet tom and that you had a great time .its ashame we didnt get to bump in to each other with how packed it was i got to bump in to 2 others i knew .would love to se your photos bcm you can put them in the photo album in the fan section .i was only there to meet tom i save to meet tom only at events .maybe next time we will be able to bump into each other when tom does another event .glad you and your neice had a great time

Great narrative, bcm77. Thanks for sharing your experience. I've managed to meet Tom on three occasions and it's true -- he never disappoints. It's like meeting an old friend, which is what he is to those of us who have watched him in "Who" and several of his other roles.

Brian Blessed sounds like a real hoot.

It was VERY busy and the lack of adequate air conditioning in the dealer room meant it was a bit hot and sticky at times but it was all worth it as I got to meet my favorite TARDIS duo.

Due to clashing schedules for the other photoshoots we missed Tom's 1st signing session and had to leave for our train whilst the second one was in progress so we didn't get a signed pic but that'll be top priority for a future event....we'll have to meet up for a chat if we happen to go to the same one.

Glad you liked my account of the day, one slightly surreal moment I didn't mention was a Dalek saying "Hello!" to me as it rolled past and another said "Thank you" when I put some change in the charity collection tin it had on it's plunger....it's not what you expect from a Dalek!

i was reading that by next year work will be completed on the dons stadium for when they have the next event there ie the car park and the inside of the building but every one did well to keep the crowds together and under controll
