Questions about whether Tom will appear at a convention or in a particular programme or film are wasted questions as he cannot talk about any offers in advance, and the moment agreement is reached, he announces the news on his website.

Hello, Tom.
**** Russell's play is again touring the UK, this time with Matthew Kelly and Claire Sweeney starring.
I wonder if you would share some memories of your time in the play, which I recall you mentioning in the autobiography.
As ever, my thanks and fond wishes!
John

Dear John,
Educating Rita was the second of the only two successes I ever had. Mike Ockrent directed. The play is alovely account of discovery and happiness. Not complete happiness of course, that would be unbearable. Kate Fitzgerald played Rita and thinking back on her performance makes me weep with joy. She was just wonderful, WONDERFUL. I shall never forget her.
Best wishes
Tom
