Tom Baker Doctor Who merchandise

Postby bcm77 on October 31st, 2009, 1:11 pm

I thought it'd be nice to have a thread where people could post pics of any of the assorted merchandise that's become available over the years. I'll start the ball rolling with some shots of my Character Options figures,

Yeah I got that figure of The Doctor, a great likeness
"Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhh....me laddie!"

"You damned courtiers to the Queen, you're nothing but lap dogs to a slip of a girl!"

Hope to meet a nautical cove or two online to chat about Tom, "Who", etc :-)

Here's a pic of the new "Pyramids of Mars" version of Tom sporting the "serious" headsculpt from the previous version,

There's a couple of paint issues on the scarf ( a couple of stripes are a bit splodgy ) and the eyebrows on the head that comes with it are painted too high but overall it's another great figure and I'm hoping that more versions follow in 2010.

The current rumors are that a "Seeds of Doom" version will appear in a box set of all 11 Doctors and that a season 18 version will be included with a much requested Classic TARDIS police box.

Let's hope those rumours are true! Currently you can buy figures of Doctors 1, 2, 3 (three versions), 4 (two versions), 5, 6 (three versions!) 9 and 10 (tons of versions of Doc 10). Why no Doctors 7 and 8?

Indeed. I'd also like the following versions,

Sherlock Holmes attire from "The Talons of Weng-Chiang"

Attire from "The Deadly Assassin" ( The decayed Master is heavily rumored to be in the next wave of Classic figures so a 4th Doctor to go with it would be awesome. )

Season 12 attire with the long overcoat
( Most of this figure is already made so it would have minimal production costs )

As for Doctors 7 & 8 they have been sculpted by Design Works Windsor ( the people that make the figs for CO )and approved by both actors and are currently expected to be released next year. The rumors for what figures they'll come with are,

7th Doctor based on the attire from "Ghost Light" ( is going to be in the 11 Doctor box set )
7th Doctor wearing his straw hat & with the umbrella ( will either be in a 2-pack with a Special Weapons Dalek or a Classic TARDIS )
8th Doctor ( possibly an exclusive to the 11 Doctor box set )

I remember in 1977 and '78 Denys Fisher bought out some great Tom Baker Doctor Who toys, some of which I got for the Christmases of those years, in '77 I got the TARDIS, the Doctor and a Dalek, and in '78 I got a matching K-9!... :D

When I've saved up enough money, I intend going on ebay and buying these, as the ones I had from the time got lost and damaged!...
