My oh my, this thread is slow in getting off the ground isn't it? It needs a little help from me I think. Does anyone fancy a discussion on the current trend for 3D in the cinema?

Well, sir, I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 in theater in 3D. It was miraculous seeing Lord Voldemort blow apart as he died and it seemed little pieces of him flew out of the screen, and into the audience.
Also, Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Meance will be out in 3D in February. Looking forward to that. Might be able to wrangle going to a showing with my friends.
"I only get to about three movies a year in the theatre". I assume you're from the US tch. It isn't usually the done thing to use the word 'theatre' over here unless it's used to describe a place where folks act on the stage. We call the other thing either 'the pictures' or the cinema.

First it was the biscuit/cookie controversy and now theatre/cinema. Will I ever learn to deal with the USA/UK language barrier?
Over here films play at the movie theater, so the short hand can be movies or theater. I'm old, so I tend to say theater. I forgot about that whole live stage stuff. I get to see that even less than I get to go to the pictures.
