A good shiver...?

Dear Tom... may the coming New Year bring you continued success, happiness and prosperity!

On my very first visit to the UK in 2009, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet my childhood hero at an event in Hammersmith... it was you! I cherish the photograph I took with you that day, and it was so lovely to see that that fellow in whom I placed all my faith to chase away the baddies (as I was perched safely behind the sofa), was indeed as genuine and warm in person as the character he portrayed. It was a great day!

The same day, as I walked back to the train station, I wandered into an HMV and came across a boxset of a TV series I'd never heard of, called "Ghost Detective"... and it was hosted by you! I snatched-up the DVDs, and have enjoyed them at home several times since.

I love a good ghost story, and you seemed to have a grand ol' time hosting the program... what are your beliefs as far as ghosties and ghouls are concerned, and do you have a personal encounter of your own with the spirit world that you might be kind enough to share? On the same subject, it would be wonderful to hear you record some M.R. James stories (hint-hint Big Finish).

Dear Canada Anthony,

I was brought up to believe in fairies and Devils and angels on my shoulder. And especially to believe how unworthy I was. I constantly heard what a worm I was. And when I became an actor I was faced by directors who reminded me about my worminess. And I spent too much time doing humility. The book of Genesis is more in my line. And Leviticus chapter 11 makes me chortle: don't eat cuckoos.
