Blackadder & Captain Rum

Postby Captain Rum on October 16th, 2011, 8:24 pm

Hi Tom,

As you can tell by my profile you are in two of my favourite shows, Doctor Who and Blackadder. I was just curious to know about your memories of being in Blackadder. Did you enjoy playing the role of Captain Rum and was it as enjoyable behind the scenes as it was onscreen?

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhharrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaagggggggggggghhhhhhh....me laddie :D

Marc.
"Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhh....me laddie!"

"You damned courtiers to the Queen, you're nothing but lap dogs to a slip of a girl!"

Hope to meet a nautical cove or two online to chat about Tom, "Who", etc :-)

Marc,

I think I enjoyed playing Captain Rum. I remember that after it was transmitted I was asked to speak at the Oxford Students' Union and afterwards, when signing autographs, the students asked me to write out certain lines: "You have a woman's hand."

Sometimes people still quote lines to me. Amazing, eh?

Best wishes from Tom
