Excommunication message.

Looking back on my life I have realised that through certain pieces of drama that sneaked in themes of questioning faith, I was able to throw off my catholic upbringing when I was a teenager, to achieve my current secular, materialist view. I have to thank people like Douglas Adams and Rob Grant/Doug Naylor and the Pythons for this. But as well as them I have to credit yourself. For as the strange priest in 'The Life and Loves of a She Devil' I realised that priests were strange and therefore their authority highly dubious.

Through that you helped to set me free and I am very grateful.

I am currently about to send a letter to my Bishop to get myself excommunicated. In my fun act of heresy I have to give my reasons for apostasy, otherwise they don't take it seriously. As someone who claimed me away, I would however like to shove in a P.S. at the end with a fun message from you on my behalf. What would you say to them?

Yours, 'Skeptic'. A loving and grateful fan (But not worship. Worshipping anything is a bad idea after all - I got the gist ).

As you know the Bishop can only move on the diagonal so do not be surprised if the answer is oblique. He might also say you have excommunicated yourself. I have heard it said that God is an underachiever but that depends on how you look at him. I mean glanced at backwards he turns into a Dog! Heaven forbid! But there have been dog-faced gods in olden times and god-faced dogs in our days. I have toyed with reworking the book of genesis and recording it with sound effects and with enlargements on the fall of Lucifer. But who on earth would be interested in that?
