Tom Baker DVDs slated for release next year

Postby Wonkakid on May 25th, 2011, 8:19 pm

According to Doctor Who Magazine, the US release schedule for Tom Baker DW DVDs for 2012 is:

Terror of the Zygons
The Android Invasion
The Face of Evil
Nightmare of Eden

Very happy about the first three of the four. Been waiting for them for some time. Nightmare will also be quite welcome, although others may disagree :-).

See http://www.doctorwhonews.net/search/label/DVD for more.

The Sun Makers is slated for an August release this year.

Best,

Rob

So Nightmare Of Eden is going to be the final Tom story to get released on DVD. I actually quite like it, it's got a brilliant story just a shame about it's production values and a few silly performances. It's a hundred times better than Underworld though.
I wonder if Shada will get a release on DVD? If they do, I hope they change the incidental music that they gave it for it's vhs release - the tinny 80's keyboard music sounded dreadfully out of place.

Zygons/Android Invasion are the two I most want from those. Zygons especially. One of the best monsters ever, plus it features the perfect Tom/Lis/Ian combo, and a great turn from the usually wonderful John Woodnutt.

It'll be nice to finally have the entire run on DVD, "Nightmare of Eden" is the only one of Tom's stories I've never seen so if the UK releases are in the same order it'll be a good way to complete the set.

Hopefully we'll get some UK dates soon. I love the boxsets like "The Key To Time" but wish they'd keep the boxsets for one particular doctor, when they have a boxset for two different doctors it ruins the collection, I like to keep them in chronological order! At least with the "New Beginnings" boxset it had Tom's last two stories and Peter's debut. Hopefully all Tom's stories will be released next year :)

Hope to meet a nautical cove or two online to chat about Tom, "Who", etc :-)

Cheers mate :D It's one of my favourite programmes, so to have Tom appear in it and play the brilliant Rum...well, I had to pay tribute to the great man :)

Yes he did, plenty of classic lines :D

Anyway, back on topic, does anyone have any news on a Shada dvd release?
