I've just found out Tom had a part in that. It was that one where they show you a poor unfortunate bloke having his arm sawn off without an anaesthetic at the beginning of it, wasn't it?

yes ive got the dvd as tom was in it. the arm at the beginning they had froma tank and it was roaming about

You seem to have misinterpreted my post. I wasn't saying that Tom was in the amputation scene, I didn't know what scene he acted in.

That version of Frankenstein creeped me out. Of course the story itself was very creepy.
I did not know that Tom was in it. I'll have to look it up. I remember the boat going to the polar region and how Victor and the Monster were buried in the ice cavern. Ack, what a sickly, awful feeling I had after seeing that movie. I bought an English ivy plant for my mom back then and named it Victor in honor of the character in that movie. That plant is still thriving, lol. Yeah, I name all kinds of things.

Was Tom's sea captains character a member of "the soggy bottom boys" ? Have you ever heard them sing, "Man of constant sorrow" ? *

When I was about 8 or 9 they showd it on tv and I persuaded my Mum and Dad to let me stay up to see it because Tom was in it.
I remember after Tom did his bit my Dad said "Is that it?"...and it was.

Tom of course was origionaly in line to play the monster but then the producers decided they wanted someone "beautiful" instead. Thats showbizz eh!

but tomplayed the part well althou it was short but not to short ive seen tom in one film and he was only in that less then 5 minutes and he had to go abroard for that

Tom would have been great as Baron Victor Frankenstein ala Peter Cushing.

I agree. But I would go even one step further and say anything Peter Cushing did Tom would have been able to do it also, just as well.
