Thank you and a general history question

Dear Mr. Baker,

First of all, thank you for the joy you've brought to our family, epecially my youngest daughter, when she started viewing previous episodes of Dr. Who a couple of years ago. We were going through a particularly challenging time as she had been diagnosed with a spinal condition which required surgery last year. Watching Dr. Who episodes gave us a respite and a lot of smiles during that time. I don't think you may realize how many lives you have touched over the years.

Now my question:

What periods in history (of any country) do you find most interesting and why?

Dear Marian,

Thank you for the lovely little tale of your daughter smiling at all my sillinesses and efforts at heroism.

My two favourite bits of History are The Glorious Revolution of 1688 here in England and also the Story of The Glorious revolution in your country. Both these events changed the world and contain enough heroism and treachery and self sacrifice and tragedy to enthrall anyone. I was doing an audition the other day for HBO,Thrones! And as I ended my little piece, I cried out, heroically: "And God Bless America." Judging by the expression on the cameraman's face I may just have made a mistake, but I meant well.
