I had always heard about how you were working construction when you were offered the role of Doctor Who. It may have been told but I don't recall. How did it happen that you were offered the role of Doctor Who?

Yes I was working on a building site at the time, but meanwhile, the BBC saw a film called The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. I was playing a wizard called Koura. The part of the Doctor was vacant and you know the rest.
