Tom Baker, the author

Tom has written two books - his autobiography "Who on Earth is Tom Baker?" and a short novel called "The Boy Who Kicked Pigs". The autobiography is no longer in print, but it is possible to pick up copies on Amazon and eBay. There are a few excerpts on this website. "The Boy Who Kicked Pigs" is still in print and has been translated and published in 8 different languages.

From time to time, Tom may post messages in this forum himself, but he regrets he cannot answer personal messages and emails individually.

Got both of his books, the Autobiography is signed and they're both great to read. I don't read many autobiographies let alone buy them but a chance to meet Tom AND read the book was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.....something to tell the grandchildren.....might have to have kids first for that to be possible but hey-ho
"Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhh....me laddie!"

"You damned courtiers to the Queen, you're nothing but lap dogs to a slip of a girl!"

Hope to meet a nautical cove or two online to chat about Tom, "Who", etc :-)

I have all of the afore mentioned books by Tom and have enjoyed them imensely. I had a chance to meet Tom in 1985(I think) at a convention in San Jose California. He is wonderful, I also enjoyed his recording of "Arthur and the Bellybutton Diamond".

Dear All -

TOM also has audio cassettes and CDs of HIS two aforementioned books floating round "out there," so you might be lucky enough to stumble onto a copy of them.

Also, back in the early 1980s, HE complied two books for charity, published by Sparrow Books. Though they have been long out of print, they do still tend to turn up on places like ebay and in used book shops.

The titles are:

The Boy Who Forgot to Grow Down and other limericks

and

Never Wear Your Wellies in the House and other poems to make you laugh

TOM also provided a limerick that HE wrote for the one and the poem of the title for the other. If you like, and I am permitted, will reprint those two poems here for all of you to enjoy.

TOM also wrote:

a weekly column for Reveille circa 1975 - 1976

and

several book reviews for The Times circa 1976 - 1977

Though I do not have all of them, will be glad to share those that I do have, with anyone WHO would like copies. just PM me.

Love,
pattie anne

Dear merlinsseer -

Yes, HE reads/narrates both of them.

The bio is on two audio cassettes, and The Boy WHO Kissed Pigs, ah, that is, The Boy Who Kicked Pigs is on two CDs. Also, there is a very nice interview on one of the Pigs CD's.

Best,
pattie anne
