Another favorite TOM quote of mine is the 4th Doctor's speech in "Ark In Space" where he says that the human race is "indomitable". One of the best speeches in all of Doctor Who's 47 year history. :)
" 'Wibbsey' would be a wonderful word for pillow talk, wouldn't it? Especially if you said it softly..."

I recall this from the Radio Times 1993:-

"At 6pm I start Dinner, and if I am in a drinking vein I might open a bottle of wine. My wife puts on the tales of woe. I can't imagine why such a lovely girl should want to listen to the news, but she does....."

Needless to say from that moment, the news has always been known as the "Tales of Woe" in our house too!

Bless you Tom - so wise! :D

I'm not sure where this one comes from (Patti - perhaps you know...) but I found it amusing!

"Not everybody knows that looking at people in 'a funny way' is the commonest cause of sudden murder. I happen to know that because I read a Home Office brochure once."

From Mr. Baker's autobiography:

"Polycarp of Smyna!" and the whole dialog which followed.

page 62.

Polycarp of Smyrna BTW was a second century Christian bishop of Smyrna. According to the Martyrdom of Polycarp, he died bound and burned at the stake, then stabbed when the fire failed to touch him. Polycarp is regarded as a saint in the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox , Anglican, and Lutheran Churches.
