spin offs

Postby tch on July 17th, 2013, 1:01 am

So, Sarah Jane Adventures is over and Torchwood has sunk with barely a ripple, so I was thinking, what you like to see for a Who spinoff series?

They can be dream projects or something that could really be done. Whatever pops into your heads.

My list:

The Victorian trio from 'Snow men': These guys deserve their own show.

UNIT: Would love to see either classic UNIT dealing with sci-fi threats on their own, or even the current version as run by Dr. Kate.

the Ace adventures: my family was talking about could they pick another companion and keep the show going, and the continuing adventures of a more mature Dorothy McShane was the only one we could agree on.

anyone else want a turn?

I was also thinking about the Victorian trio. It would make such a lovely humorous sci-fi series. Sontaran Strax is such a good character and they make up a really nice team.

Slightly off the task set but I would like to see some docu-dramas. There were some recently about 'Carry On' members and they could be quite dark. I thought the Dammed United was excellent. I can imagine the stories of Tom, Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton whilst filming Dr Who's to be quite a watchable event, especially for fans...just a thought

They are doing a docu-drama about the creation of the TV show for the 50th and I believe it will feature actors recreating the first two Doctors.

My new spin off idea is a Eureka style show about the research facility where all that alien tech goes and the team of scientists and soldiers that try to figure it out and not get killed by it.

You could bring in some Who actors and assorted aliens and make lots of references to Who-history.

Just watched both 'Peladon' episodes, I want to add it to my wish list of spin-offs.

What about a spin-off series called 'The Life & Times of Rassilon?' as he was the person who discovered time travel?
A lot more detail could be included in the series about this particular Time Lord, and how he came to invent time travel, than is included in 'Doctor Who'.

A UNIT series, with a Brigadier Benton! Would love an Ace series too, Sophie Aldred was brilliant, especially in the darker stories like "The Curse of Fenric".

Hope to meet a nautical cove or two online to chat about Tom, "Who", etc :-)

Had he still been alive, I'd liked to have seen Roger Delgado get his own series as the Master.
