Primeval: New World

The New World:
Episode 1.
Primeval: New World due its setting in North America has been said to be akin to Torchwood: Miracle Day as much of that also takes place in North America. In fact just as The New World has been used as the name of the first episode of Primeval: New World, it has also been used as the name of the first episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day.
Andrew Lee Potts reprises his role of Connor Temple from the British series in this the first episode of New World, perhaps passing on the baton between the British to the North American series.
Overall the first episode was not bad.
Really saw the demise of Drake coming.
Quite sad seeing the flashback of what happened in Evan Cross’ life to lead him to where he is now.

Sisiutl:
Episode 2.
Not bad episode involving a creature that resembles a sea serpent in which the episode title was alluding to.
It was particularly good when the sea serpent-like creature had its scene in the warehouse.

Fear of Flying:
Episode 3.
The best episode so far.
After little bit of a slow start I feel that this episode is where has gotten its momentum with this viewer.
Very well shot scenes in the Bermuda Triangle (not the actual Bermuda Triangle itself just a nickname given by the pilot who appeared here).
Very intense scenes as Evan and Dylan tried to get away from the flying creatures hence the title of the episode and very well done at it.

Angry Birds:
Episode 4.
The episode title refers to big dodos wreaking havoc.
A smoothly well done episode and quite amusing what happened when Evan and Dylan encountered a couple of weed makers.
It looks like Leeds may have some sinister motivations.

Undone:
Episode 5.
Thrilling episode which has a creature roaming around a college campus.
Quite tragic when a team member got killed by one of the creatures.

Clean Up on Aisle Three:
Episode 6.
Directed by Amanda Tapping.
There was definitely a clean up here as the team were sent to a department store to deal with some dinosaurs from the anomaly.
The action was quite minimal and most of it was focus on conversations between Evan and Dylan on how they can live with the life they are living with the job they are doing, Mac doing the job while still grief-stricken and the conversation between Angelika and Leeds including the former’s personal future.
Not bad but not a great episode either.

Babes In The Woods:
Episode 7.
The title definitely evokes image of a horror movie situation.
Surprising revelation that Toby was a Fatal Babe, that is a girl who had pictures of her taken scantily clad.
If this had been a horror movie then a lot of the pretty girls would have been killed off but thankfully in this episode no pretty girls were killed. In fact most of them departed the woods safely oblivious to what was going on.
A pretty good episode making good use of a horror movie template.

Interesting. Had not heard about this.
Torn because I enjoyed Primeval, until it pretty much fell apart, but at the same time, going with the co-production idea pretty much killed Torchwood.

I'll have to track down a couple episodes.
