A Dream About Tom

Postby Prydonian on April 20th, 2011, 8:41 pm

I am known to have frequent Who-related dreams about the series and its stars past and present, so I was not too suprised to have one just the other night. I was dreaming I was at a friend's (someone I have not seen since 1991 or thereabouts)watching some drama western on TV. Imagine my delight when Tom appeared onscreen wearing a cowboy hait and a beard! I have no clue what he said in character as his appearance alone knocked me out of my seat. But then imagine my further suprise when Matt Smith (the latest Dr Who for those not keeping count ;) ) turned up with a hat and beard and acted as Tom's apprentice. Matt was good in the part but Tom was just classic.

Anyone else dream about Tom or Dr Who of late?

I find that nostalgia and especially what we loved as children continue to follow us around throughout our lives and in our dreams as well. Those are memories of great happiness and contentment and I think thats why. We can't let go of what gave us so much immense pleasure...And we shouldn't have too.

Very well put, friend Jay. I have frequent dreams about things I was into as a child, as I have very little to occupy myself now I am grown. I miss the carefree days of youth. I am not old, but I am still not comfortable being my present age at the same time.

Just remember, Pry. It's the way you think and how you live NOT your age. When people lose their youth, they lose their exuberance and happy go lucky attitude. They start to take things for granted and forget the little aspects that have brought so much joy.

I just recalled a little poem in a little picture form that I had as a kid.
It said, don't hurry, don't worry don't forget to smell the flowers.
I always liked that.
