What attracted you to the area, rather than somewhere like Kent, where you'd lived previously?

Oh, accidents, accidents; nearly everything is accidents including all the major events in our lives. We don't choose our parents, our country and language, or our early teachers.
Anyway, my wife and I were looking for a new home and one day came across our present house. Within 30 minutes we were sure we wanted it. It's very quiet though there was a terrible uproar some time ago, 1066, down in Hastings. The King got an arrow in the eye and darkness came down; a chap called Norman did it and then without as much as a by your leave he and his pals, or Copains, as they called them in those days just took the place over; the rest as they say is history.
