Hi Tom,
In your run as the Doctor, you had several great one-time monsters/villains/aliens; the Jagaroth, the Wirrn, Morbius, the Mandragora helix (there was even a comment in the story which paved the way for a possible sequel), the Fendahl, and perhaps the most saught-after to return... the Zygons.
My question is: during your time as the Doctor, would you have liked any of those one-timers to return for Round Two?

I always treated the monsters very fairly. I always beat them but was never vindictive. Of course I had no control of how to beat them. But I got used to winning and they never got used to losing. That's what happens in cloud-cuckoo-land where we made Doctor Who. I often regretted that we used explosions to finish off the monsters. Sometimes I didn't want to kill them, and sometimes I was NOT ALLOWED to destroy the Daleks. Can you guess why? Right on, Lewis, you got it in one.
It was all such fun, such wonderful fun. And that comforts me whenever a beloved old colleague dies. On Friday I was invited to recall the good times at the memorial service for Nicholas Courtney. And we are still speechless after the sudden death of our dearly loved Lis Sladen.
