Dear Sue,

I planned to pen a poem
To commemorate your day.
But as so often happens,
Real Life got in the way.

The vet and cat took all my time,
As well as all my money!
Then I took a sleeping pill -
Which made my head feel funny.

Now I'm awake, the cat is home,
The drama is (please God) done.
So I send birthday wishes, and hope
It was a happy one.

Hello Sue!

Thanks for the kind words and the well wishes. Larry (aka Sir Lawrence now that he's cost me an arm, a leg, a kidney and a stomach ulcer) is doing well, but I'm very cautious. You know how we cat moms worry. I'll be sure to tell him you asked about his progress. He'll be touched - as touched as a cat can be by a human anyway. We're just walking can openers, you know.

By the way, Merlin says hello! She's pitched her tent here with me for a while. The cats approve. Lucky for Merlin. (Even Princess Grace HERSELF blessed her with a snuggle session.)
