What bit of technology would you take??

Was discussing on another forum about a 'bluetooth' I was given and how hard it is to find a portable phone that just rings and you can answer..no bells and whistles, not interested in one that does handstands or sings the Star-Spangled Banner. Just a plain ol' pocket phone.

Got me thinking how tied up with technology people are-- almost hampered by it now. Can't move without something attached or hanging off the body...Ipod, Blackberry, might as well be set up for cyber-conversion

So let me ask you this...
The Doctor travelled (meaning mainly Tom's Doc) with simple (if not many) items in his pockets. The only 'technical' item was his sonic screwdriver. The yo-yo, the deck of cards, the magic wand etc. were all everyday items meaning 'no batteries required'.

With that in mind, which electronic-techno gizmo would you have to have with you if you could only have one.

Personally I'd try the iPod.

I don't have one but hear they can store a fantastic amount of music and audio books.

I would probably get a kindle for reading and watching movies and have my cell phone with me, too.

I would delighted to leave everything behind.

I own lots of technology and it is intrusive and adds little real quality to life. I am certainly not important enough to need to be contactable 24x7. Who is?
