Released in 1983, Doctor Detroit is a comedy film starring Dan Aykroyd.
It was quite a delight seeing among the female cast Lynn Whitfield and Fran Drescher.
Aykroyd plays a college professor when he found himself stepping into the guise of Doctor Detroit to battle against the villain known as Mom.
Not exactly perfect but Doctor Detroit is quite fun as a comedy film.
The end titles promised a sequel Doctor Detroit II: The Wrath of Mom, the subtitle being a gag on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
However no such sequel came about due to poor box office results for Doctor Detroit. This is in contrast to today’s movie productions in which sequels gets green-lighted and committed to production even before the release of the first movie.
