Dear That-Scarf-Girl -

I think phobias of clowns and Santa Claus, are very common, especially among very small children. Not that I am implying that in your particular case, you are a small child; as I have a bit of a problem with clowns myself, even without having seen the particular story you mentioned in your question.

Best,
Dirk :ugeek:

Clowns are very disturbing. They are right up there with praying mantis, walking sticks, insane asylums and anything to do with cannibalism. Not nessecarily in that order.

What's all this about walking sticks?!
I need to use a walking stick! I have a knee problem (not injured) and we are still trying to work out why. Hopefully the MRI will tell us.
On another note, I've never heard of kids being scared of Santa. My parents used to sneak outside after I left a carrot for the reindeer and take a HUGE bite out of it.
Now I do that for my niece (she calls Sontarans "the potato people")

Sorry, Scarf-girl, wrong sort of walking stick ( sorry about your knee though ). Here it's a bug, a very creepy bug that pretends it's a stick.

Oh i know what you're talking about now! Here Down Under we call them "stick insects".
I agree they are icky.
On the upside, I now get to use a walking stick, just like Dr House and William Hartnell's Doctor (hehe, mine is flower patterned and folds up)

Toms answer about how he would like to be remembered or memorialized shows just how humble he really is. I'm sure he knows all too well that the fans of Tom will make it a day worthy of the Man Himself. We'll erect effigies and hold vigils and prayer circles. We'll laugh and cry and carry on for hours every anniversary of the event.
I have a Mayan friend here and he has told me that the new rendition of their calendar, the current one ends in 2012, will cycle around the first full Dr. Who episode of Toms' reign. I believe it was 28 December 1974 with part one of Robot. That will be the new New Years Day and will be henceforth be called New Tom Day.
I simply MUST come up with a good question for Him, it's been months...

Stick insects creep me out big time! Although, I'm sure we scare them as well. :D
