dear donnarose -

ah, gee, that's plum 'orrible. :(

and i think it was, dirk, WHO ammended and used a couple of them too. 8-)

but if their are any of them left (as i have deleted the ones that have been used by me and any others) they would still be here:

Fan Community - May Questions ... Comments

[seems MY PROBLEM is not a lacking of questions to Ask TOM; but rather that i have so very many that i would like to make an inquiry of, but can only query (like everyone else) just the ONE per month.] :?

Dear Pattie Anne -

Tattletail :!:

I was just trying to help you out. And some of yours I found quite interesting. 8-)

Plus, I am not very good at coming up with strong suit, original Tom questions. Mine always seen to run to things like "What did you think of K9?" and "What was your favourite flavour of jelly babies?" :?

Best,
Dirk :geek:

Thanks, PA and Dirk. :)

Hopefully I came up with a suitable one for this month.

I happened to turn on the tv the other day while eating lunch, and lo and behold, one of the channels was showing
"The Zany Adventures of Robin Hood," with Tom as Sir Guy.

So I based this month's question based on his performance.

In fact, I didn't realize he was in that movie til I heard that unmistakable voice of his. :)

;) It is amazing how often his presence is given away by that voice...on or off screen.

I wish he'd come to the States and do something with Pixar..but something really good.

dear donna rose -

did you think to make a copy of it?

my VCR copy off TV, is so old, that when i tried to copy it to a DVD, the copy turned out all garbled. though i did find a website where i could buy a VCR tape of it. and amazon.com has several used copies for sale. so i may have to do that. but it rather irks me that i have to pay $15-40 for a tv show that has been aired so many times, and is so old, and other than TOM being in it, it just isn't all that good. :(

Dear Pattie Anne -

Yikes! That does seem rather expensive for an old TV show. :?

And speaking of Tom credits, that you do not have, or would like better copies of. Have you had any luck finding another audio cassette of Tom reading Mary Hoffan's "First Myths" to replace the one you lost?

Best,
Dirk :ugeek:

PS: And as Tom has begin to answer his September questions, THAT topic should take off in earnest now. ;)

Hi all.
I asked a question this month which he answered. When I asked him about autographs in Australia, he replied that he answers letters sent to the "stamp centre in the Strand". But over here in Oz, I haven't the faintest idea what -or where- that is. Can anyone help me work it out?

Thanks all,
Your Friend Down Under,
Samantha

Dear Samantha:

The address for The Stamp Centre is:

The Stamp Centre
79 The Strand
London
WC2R 0DE
ENGLAND

TOM usually goes to The Strand for autograph signings for fans. He'll be there on Thursday the 23rd of September. Just send him a request by snail mail to the above address. HOPE this helps. Take care, my friend.

Your friend,

Marcello

No, I didn't make a copy of it, PA.

I had missed most of the movie--just happened to sit down and turn on the tv when I had a bit of a later lunch.

I may try to see if Netflix has it and rent it from there.

Btw, you might find a used copy on ebay as well.

dear donnarose -

am at ebay all the TIME. as a matter of fact i bid on an old TOM CON CD and am waiting to hear if i won it or not. still, ta, for the suggestion.

dear dirk -

:(

nope, no luck on getting another audio cassette of TOM reading mary hoffman's "first myths". should have taken better care of the copy i bought off ebay all those years ago.

have bought several copies of mary's book (off the Internet) believing it included the audio cassette (as advertised), but so far, three copies of her book later, NO enclosed cassette. have even been in email contact with the author herself, and even though she has shown a perfect stranger many kindnesses, even mary has not been able to secure a copy of it for me.

:?

perhaps am being punished for not taking better care of the one copy i did own, once upon a TIME.

SNIF

anyWHO, as always, i still HOPE one will turn up for me, from somewhere ... someday.

ta, for asking.
