Aww...that squirrel is so adorable. Reminds me of the pen and ink drawing I sent TOM back in 2001. Sadly I don't think TOM received it. I wish squirrels wouldn't run away from me, as I'd love to cuddle with them. Great photo BTW, Pattie Anne!

Oh, my! Reading Marcello's story made me think of the squirrels that lived by one of our first apartments.

We lived on the second floor of a private home in a private apartment.

My husband used to buy those mini-Snickers bars for his lunch.

I used to take them and cut them up and put them out on the roof for the squirrels to eat.

Needless to say, I became quite popular with the squirrels but not with my husband.

Well, he obviously forgave me b/c here we will be married 30 years this coming November.

And ... Greetings all !

With my hubbies help I was finally able to post a picture. I'm as happy as a bed bug in a mattress factory.
I took these pictures at a state park in western Georgia a couple of weeks ago. It was a pleasant day with temperatures in the 70's. There were Canadas, Mallards, American Coots, a male Wood duck and a Great Blue Heron. The Canadian Goose kept walking away from me until I explained that I just wanted to take a picture. She kindly let me snap a few photos. I thanked her for posing for me and walked away to take other pictures.

The Coots were adorable. They are very affectionate with each other and stay in close knit groups. it is hard to capture their striking red eyes and still be able to see their sooty feather patterns and not have the bill over exposed. Their feet have really cool webbed toes that remind me of some exotic plant leaf.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little glimpse of my fun day in the sun in Georgia. btw it rained all day today and is chilly, lol.

about a week ago i saw the LARGEST flock of geese fly over our house than i had ever seen in my life. (actually they were THREE groups - one behind the other two who were flying parallel). i wanted to run in the house and get my husband out so he could enjoy them too, but i know by the TIME i did that, they would all be long gone. and the noise of them all was thunderous! what a chorus.

Hello Everyone.

This squirrely was caught stealing bird seeds yesterday. So it had to have it's picture taken. That's the penalty for coming within range of my camera, lol.

Edit: Donnarose, I have a Sony DSLR 550. My hubby bought it for me for my birthday last year. He's such a wonderful guy.
