Hi Tom,

I have heard it said that you and Lis Sladen co-wrote some of the dialogue in your 'goodbye' speech at the end of The Hand of Fear, and was wondering if there was any resistance to you two doing that by the powers that be, and if, generally ,there is anything you regret about not getting to do with regards to your time with Lis on the programme?

Dear Prydonian

I don't remember writing the goodbye speech. I was always suggesting changes to the dialogue and nearly all my ideas were rejected. But I have no hard feelings after all this time, and Lis and I remain on very affectionate terms.
