Actor Hierarchy

Dear Tom,

I hope that you received the letter I posted to The Stamp Centre during your last visit.

It was of interest to learn recently that back in the day, there was an hierarchy of actors. With guest actors told not to approach the lead character (unless within the same scene obviously). Did you experience this from either side and do you think it still happens today, or are the leads more open in their approach to other cast members?

Each production is so different. People send out signals and people respond. But if the characters are thrown together in a small space it can get very funny and quite revealing.
