Frankenstein's Sea Captain

Postby anthonyz on January 7th, 2011, 7:44 am

Hi Tom,

I hope 2011 is good for you. When I was an ankle-biter, the Frankenstein -- The Real Story miniseries scared me senseless (especially the crawling disembodied hand!)

You played the Sea Captain in this and got very drenched on screen amid a lot of shouting and a shipwreck. Do you have any particularly strong memories from this production?

Thank you Sir!

Jack Smight directed Frankenstein: the True Story and Hunt Stromberg, the producer toyed with the idea of me playing the monster. Christopher Isherwood, the writer preferred beauty and I finished up on deck in a storm. BUT, Jack Smight's wife, an adorable lady, congratulated me on my storm performance! She is a lady of grace and I have never forgotten her kindness.
