Holidays? No. But in years gone by, actors did Summer Seasons at different seaside resorts and that often counted as a holiday. I once did a season at Scarborough Theatre in the Round. I stayed in Old Westgate with Dave and Angela. He was a fisherman and she was a goddess of kindness. When Dave was out trawling we went most nights to Leppys Fish and Chips! Oh, heaven. But when Dave came ashore and we all went out clubbing and got home starving we had lobster and fresh bread and butter. On Sunday mornings we sang along with the Salvation Army on the beach. That was more than a holiday, it was paradise.
