Dear Mouser,
This has been my 77th November so there is no novelty there, however on balance I am glad to have experienced them. And then boom! Down comes the snow. And there are the little faces of the birds peeping in through the kitchen windows and cheeping with the peeping as I tuck into scrambled eggs on toast. They were delicious, (the eggs, I mean), though 25 minutes is a long time to wait for them to cook on a cold morning. On the last day of November I counted 19 black deer in our lower meadow. The Heron is lurking above the pool but the carp are all dozing near the bottom and well out of the way from the big H. I dare not go in the woods with so much snow on old branches. It is the most unusual November I can remember - which sounds like the title of an old song!
