The Hunt

Dear Tom,

I'm hoping the summer months have been good to you and yours. As the days shorten in anticipation of autumn, my hounds have been excited by an unusually large bounty of young bunnies for them to chase. This keeps them well occupied, although when a cat prowls by, they drop their hunt in order to chase the favored feline. Other small creatures, such as birds and squirrels, generate some interest, but far less than the prized rabbits and cats.

Now that you have had Poppy for a while, I imagine she has revealed what creatures she likes to chase the most. Which ones would she sprint into the woods to hunt, and which just elicit a turn of the head but no chase?

My dog is the friendliest little creature and when she springs a rabbit or a deer she simply chases along for a few hundred yards and then comes back to me.
