I began my career playing only corpses and I never recovered from the ordeal. And the other actors who were pretending to be alive hated me as I shook with laughter and on one occasion (it was in Macbeth) I actually sneezed during someone's big scene. How the audience loved me! Later in that season I used to attract so many people to the theatre that I used to get star billing; "Murder at the Vicarage" starring Tom Baker as the corpse! True. They were my worst performances because the audience watched me like hawks and when I winked or scratched myself they would howl with laughter. Ah, memories.
