Longleat Memories, 1983

Postby Dalek38 on June 25th, 2010, 5:23 pm

i recall watching a documentary on the Longleat Exhibition in 1983, and how mad everything was, what with the crowds and the people getting turned away, and I saw you making an appearance! What recollections do you have of the event that you could share with us here?

And what was up with John Leeson doing his K-9 voice over the tannoy? I got a kick out of that.

Wish I had been there, but I was just discovering your episodes at the time. I was still too young to know what all of that meant.

I remember needing a small platoon of soldiers to move from place to place. They say 50,000 people were there that day. I could not get home that night. It was the biggest event ever.

Best wishes
