Sorry for such a trivial question but I know for several years you had a beard and I wondered what caused you to grow it and keep it for so long? Didn't it limit you to certain parts?

I grew a beard for my part as Frank in Educating Rita for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
It was easy to cut off as required!
