I thought it was a pretty good season on the whole, the stories were very diverse, which was one of the reasons I got hooked on Doctor Who in the first place...the not knowing where the Tardis would be landing and what scenario would then unfold. It also had two of my favourite Tom stories too, I'll give you two guesses ;)
"Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhh....me laddie!"

"You damned courtiers to the Queen, you're nothing but lap dogs to a slip of a girl!"

Hope to meet a nautical cove or two online to chat about Tom, "Who", etc :-)

City of Death, Destiny and (parts of) Horns of Nimon were all great. Other stories, of course, leave something to be desired.

I have a soft spot for Season 17, despite its failings. Nightmare of Eden is a particular favourite; I love Professor Tryst's accent.

My favourites are City of Death and Shada, just a shame the latter wasn't able to be completed and that there was no commentary on the Shada dvd.

Shada is a big favourite of mine, too. It's such a strong story. Big Finish made an audio version of it, by the way, but it doesn't have Tom - there's McGann instead.

Depends what one means by silly. I love it when Tom is silly, as well as dramatic.
