Christopher Barry has passed away.
Born on September 20 1925, Barry was an early director of Doctor Who and he along with Richard Martin directed the first Dalek story with Barry directing episodes 1,2, 4 and 5 of the 7 part serial.
During his subsequent career on Doctor Who he directed the debut stories of two Doctors, Patrick Troughton in The Power of the Daleks and Tom Baker in Robot.
He also directed The Brain of Morbius in which his face turned up on screen in which his is among many faces who may or may not have been the Doctor prior to the William Hartnell Doctor during the mind-bending battle between the Tom Baker Doctor and Morbius.
His other Doctor Who stories were the following:
The Rescue
The Romans
The Savages
The Daemons
The Mutants
The Creature from the Pit

He directed two Doctor Who related projects with the direct to video drama Downtime and a Myth Makers video interview with Lis Sladen.

Non-Who work he directed included Moonbase 3 & Juliet Bravo.
Barry died on February 7 2014 at the age of 88.

"very sad news met him at the 10th planet 10 years a go now hes done a few interviews on the dvds very nice guy nick. :D

Watched The Daemons dvd with the commentary on as a tribute, he was one of the best, RIP :(

Another demise for a Who veteran? RIP all the same.
I loved his work on The Brain of Morbius. That is pure classic.
