Barry Jackson has passed away.

Born on March 29 1938, Jackson appeared in Doctor Who in the William Hartnell story The Romans playing Ascaris, the Doctor-less episode Mission to the Unknown playing Jeff Garvey and in the season 16 closer The Armageddon Factor starring Tom Baker, in which he played Drax.
It was as Drax that he revealed the Doctor’s nickname Theta Sigma.
He was one actor who appeared in both Doctor Who and Blake’s 7.
In Blake’s 7 he appeared in the season 1 episode Mission to Destiny playing Dr Kendall.

His other work included A For Andromeda, Adam Adamant Lives!, Doomwatch, The New Avengers, The Professionals, Coronation Street, Into the Labyrinth and a regular role in Midsomer Murders.

In fact I saw him in a couple of Midsomer Murders weeks ago one of which Death In Chorus guest starred incoming Doctor Peter Capaldi.

Jackson died on December 5 2013 at the age of 75.
