Doctor Costume?

Postby Bob Mitsch on April 1st, 2010, 6:28 pm

Hey Tom,

I had a couple of questions on your Dr. Who costumes. But being fair to the guidelines, I'll start with just the one for now. Were any of the items or articles of clothing you wore during your run as the Doctor from your own personal wardrobe?

I have heard that some of the items you wore as the Doctor in your first season (Season 12) were some of your own such as the mint green stripey neckerchief or the argyle cardigan. I just wondered if this was true and how much "Tom" was really brought into the character's costume so to speak!

Thanks for your time! You're the best.

Dear Bob,

No, there is no truth in what you heard. BUT, I spent a lot of time trying on clothes for Jim Aitcheson who was wonderful and patient. As you know he went on to win an Oscar later and became an international designer.

Bye, Tom
